Power Supply
Monday, December 17th, 2007Whenever it comes to the use of any modern day facility or electronic product, you always have to worry about one thing to make it work. That one most important ingredient in today’s highly technical and advanced life style is power. Power supply is the most important thing which you need to take care of if you want all your electronics to run properly. Without a proper uninterrupted power supply your TVs cannot work. How can you even imagine using internet uninterrupted without the power supply to your system? You cannot even use your car to go to the market or your office if the power supply to the engine is interrupted some how. The basic factor which is running all the machinery of the modern highly technical world is thus one common thing, the power supply.
It is obvious from the above discussion that we cannot deny the importance of power supply. But the point to be noted here is that what power supply actually is? Is it only the electric power we are talking about? Power supply is some times also called as PSU. PSU stands for Power supply unit. PSU is actually a device. It is a system which supplies energy. This energy may be of electronic nature and it may not be of electronic nature. Other kinds of energy are also used to run some of the machineries. Although power supply may include mechanical energy or any other kind of energy but as a matter of fact, power supply is usually used for the provision of electric power to machinery.
Power supply can be of many kinds. The kind depends basically on the type of power being used. A car for example runs by utilizing one kind of energy while a wind mill consumes an entirely different kind of power. The common thing in these two very different kinds of power supplies is that, both of the machineries will not work without the supply of power.
