Although power supply may include mechanical energy or any other kind of energy but as a matter of fact, power supply is usually used for the provision of electric power to machinery.

Power supply can be of many kinds. The kind depends basically on the type of power being used. A car for example runs by utilizing one kind of energy while a wind mill consumes an entirely different kind of power.
