The role of the computer cooling fan is well defined, and one which is widely acknowledged in the said industry. The computer cooling fan is a marvel in itself, and performs a range of cooling related functions, which are highly critical, with regards to the flawless functioning of the machine.
The computer cooling fan can be developed and implemented to perform a wide range of functions, foremost among them being, the CPU fan. The above mentioned fan takes care of the cooling requirements of the central processing unit. Round fans too, are freely available and used, with the emphasis on using a larger fan on the said mounting holes, which otherwise, would not have been possible. Computer cooling fans are the most common components inside a Chassis. Often they have a 80mm size and have a 27-decibel noise rate. They are crucial in cooling the computer peripherals and making certain they are on an acceptable temperature.

The use of a fan to cool down computer parts is called active cooling. Passive cooling however doesn’t require fans and usually has zero noise, but they can be a little pricey due to larger heat absorbing Heat sinks to make the devices cooler.

There are many parts of a computer that needs cooling. There are mainly four things that need cooling; the power supply, processor, graphics processing unit, and the case itself. With modern casings, there are transparent sides in which they are installed to actively cool a system. They blow out hot air that may otherwise heating up the inside components and will be more likely to freeze up computer programs due to overheating.

The ball bearing on a computer-cooling fan is the most common. However, there are also more silent options for the job. They can be noisy; others use a fan grill to minimize the noise as they can exponentially add with more fans installed.

Computer cooling fans have a 12v 4-pin Molex connector for its power. They usually draw just a little power from the power supply unit. But others like the GPU, PSU, and the processor get their connection from the different source. The graphics processing units’ cooling fan is the most intricate in most PC cases; they usually tend to get hotter during gaming. As with this subject, they have a medium-sized fan that could cool the GPU and the Video cards’ memory to acceptable levels. The processor fan is usually the same size of a case fan (80mm) but it has a better Heat sink to prevent it from overheating.
