Friday, June 27th, 2008

In the computer world, cables are also important. There are a lot of wires and cables used in a single computer. There are extension cables for computer usage, from Molex cables, USB, Power, Audio, Video, Printer, and other networking extension cables are tools that can help a pc enthusiast or regular users to customize their gear.

The most common use of extension cables are from inside the computer case. Video cables are used on a video splitter port to split your video signal to multiple computers. The Y splitter Molex connectors usually only have limited sockets, they need additional extension cables for other fans, lights, and other temp monitoring gadgets within.

If you think cables are a trouble, there are also external devices that don’t need them such as wireless LAN networking, wireless keyboards/mice, and other computer peripherals. These items don’t come cheap but can be a good investment since it eliminates most of the wires on your system.

Most of the time, the length of cables inside a pc chassis is only short compared to external devices, which needs longer cables such as printer cables or video signal cables. If you want to make sure what you need, you can search for them on the Internet as there may be compatibility issues; you can either state your hardware or bring the device itself to the store to make sure they are usable.

Other than cables, there are also cable adapters, which can also be used as a cable for other peripherals that other sockets don’t natively support. The most common adapter, cables found on the market are USB to IDE cable, USB Kits, USB to PS/2, IDE to SATA cables and much more, the majority of these items range from 2 dollars to 20 dollars depending on the purpose and quality.
